Duration: 12 months
Basis: Full time - 37 hours a week, rota basis over 7 days, with the appropriate release to undertake the apprentice qualification
Qualification to compete: NVQ in Business Administration Level 2 or Level 2 ICT (to be agreed on appointment)
City Services would like to recruit an Active Travel Apprentice to assist in the delivery of walking and cycling improvement projects across the city of Newport.
Working alongside the Active Travel projects officer you will be involved in the planning and coordination of works from feasibility to delivery.
This post represents a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the statutory and non-statutory functions of project development, green infrastructure and the promotion of sustainable modes of travel.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and reliable young person, ideally with a passion for sustainable travel, to become part of a team and work alongside a variety of sections within the City Services department.
Newport City Council is looking for an enthusiastic young person to undertake an NVQ in Business Administration Level 2, whilst working in our role.
A willingness to travel throughout Newport for site visits is essential.
